Alumni Association Seeks New Home We
have begun the process of securing the necessary approvals to build a
new home for your Association and the Office of Alumni Relations. During
a reception held on November 1, 2003 for dues paying members of the Alumni
Association, Association President René Castilla announced the
project to those in attendance.
The proposed new alumni house would be built on campus and serve as
a focal point for alumni, students, campus and community. In addition
to staff offices, the facility will offer meeting space for the Alumni
Association's 28 member Board of Directors, historical display areas,
and a small conference room.
Final approval for the lease of land will be sought in July from the
A&M System Board of Regents. A ground breaking is tentatively set
for October, 2004.
For more information on the new alumni home, watch for the April issue
of The Pride .
